Full-time Positions

Assistant Director, Donor Collections (RN)

Miller-Keystone Blood Center is searching for an RN with experience in cardiac or acute-care or similar background, and demonstrated management experience.This position will manage the day- to-day clinical operations and work with staff and donors to assure the needs of the blood center are met.  This position is based at the Bethlehem, PA location, and must be able to travel to other fixed locations and mobile blood drives.  This is a full time position and requires flexible availability outside of normal work hours.

Qualified candidate will have demonstrated experience in supervising 100+ employees, strong leadership and team-building skills, the ability to both work independantly and take direction, excellent customer service and communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, excellent phone etiquette and strong computer skills; must be goal and detail oriented.  Experience in interviewing applicants, disciplining employees and developing staff necessary. Risk management experience preferred. BSN preferred, minimum requirement is an RN license and must be able to be licensed in NJ and PA. Medical Technologist

Full-time position to perform laboratory tests which require independent thought and judgment.  Responsible for quality control, equipment maintenance, training, equipment and assay validation.  Testing procedures include chemistry, hematology, and immunohematology, including antibody identification. Hours for this position will rotate between a 4 AM, 6 AM, and 8 AM start, as well as the working rotating weekends, and the responsibility of being on-call rotation after hours and weekends.  A Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology is required. Team Leaders (RNs)

MKBC is searching for full-time (and part-time) Team Leaders from the Lehigh Valley and Berks County areas to work at our fixed sites and/or on mobile blood drives including automated collections procedures.  This position is responsible for coordinating all of the activities required to have a successful collection event, ensures the collection event is in full compliance with all regulatory and company standards, ensure that donors receive outstanding customer service, manages the staff and ensure the drive is efficient.

Qualified applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED, Current RN Professional Nursing License, previous physical assessment, medically terminology, phlebotomy experience.  Prior supervisory experience in medical setting preferred. Must have excellent customer service and communication skills, a valid driver's license and reliable transportation; must be willing to drive to mobile drives and other fixed sites. Applicants must be able to work flexible hours, including a weekend rotation, early mornings, days and nights. No phone applications/ inquiries, please.

 

Part-time Positions

Mobile Unit Assistant (Class B CDL)

Responsibilities include driving to sites and the initial set-up, operation and maintenance of mobile unites at area blood drives.  Will assist at community blood drives with registration of donors and working with Team Leaders regarding flow of donors.  High School Diploma/GED required. Candidates must possess customer service experience and excellent communication skills. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and have the ability to stand for long periods of time. Computer literacy required. Must be willing to work flexible hours including days, nights, weekends.  This position requires a current Class B CDL license with passenger endorsement preferred; prior bus and/or truck driving experience preferred. Phlebotomists

Part-time phlebotomy positions to work at mobile drives, including automated procedures.Qualified applicants must be willing to drive their own vehicle to mobile locations, and may required (occasionally) driving up to 2 hours.

Positions available in the Berks and Upper Montgomery County areas. Only qualified applicants will be considered; applicants must possess:

  • Phlebotomy Certification (only DPT or CPT will be considered) or 6 months to 1 year experience in phlebotomy
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for long periods of time
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Neat, professional appearance
  • Valid drivers license
  • Reliable transporation
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights and weekend rotations
Selected applicants must be available to attend  an initial training of approximately 8 weeks at minimum of 37.5 hours per week including nights, days and weekends.
