Miller-Keystone Blood Center does not sell or provide donor information to anyone unless authorized in writing by the donor to do so.
All employees of the Blood Center sign a confidentiality statement regarding the maintenance of donor confidentiality. Employees who violate this policy are subject to penalty and/or termination, as appropriate.
Paper records are maintained under limited access conditions, and our computer system is closed, available only through the password access of designated individuals.
All Blood Center confidentiality policies and practices are written into our operating procedures and reviewed with employees during their training.
All Blood Center policies and practices meet with the confidentiality requirements of the Healthcare Industry Privacy and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Miller-Keystone Blood Center is an independant, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that serves as the only supplier of blood products to 24 hospitals in Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Chester, Lehigh, Luzerne, Montgomery, Northampton, Philadelphia and Schuylkill (PA) and Warren (NJ) counties. Established in 1971, Miller-Keystone Blood Center is an affiliate of Hospital Central Services, Inc.
