Shifts are varied each day with most shifts being three to four
hours in length. Some people prefer to have a regular weekly/monthly
shift while others prefer to be on call.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Donor Aide at our fixed sites will:
Chat with donors to make the donation time a pleasant experience
handle tubes of blood collected from donors seal blood packs
deliver blood packs to the component room or refrigerator.
alert and assist the collections staff in case of donor reaction.
TRAINING:
Orientation and training provided by staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a minimum of fourteen (14) years old and willing to complete the required orientation and training.
POSITION:
Donor Aide - Bloodmobiles
SCHEDULE:
Start times will vary according to the mobile destination site and the length of the mobile. Bloodmobiles usually vary in length from four to eight hours.
